🔒 Private by design — your signature is drawn and exported entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and we couldn't store it if we wanted to.

How to use the signature generator

  1. Pick a mode. Draw it lets you sign freehand with a mouse, trackpad, finger or stylus. Type it turns your typed name into a script-font signature.
  2. Choose your ink. Four preset colors — black, two blues and red — plus a custom color picker. Blue reads as "signed with a pen"; black matches printed text. In draw mode you can also set the pen width.
  3. Make your mark. In draw mode, scribble away — real signatures are never neat, and neither should yours be. In type mode, type your name and click through the fonts until one feels like you.
  4. Download the PNG. One click crops the ink tightly, keeps the background transparent and exports at 2× resolution. That's the whole job.

What you get with every download

Where your signature can go

Draw or type — which should you use?

Draw if you want the version that looks most like you. A mouse works; a trackpad or touchscreen works even better, and a stylus is ideal. Nobody's handwriting survives a drawing pad perfectly, which is exactly why it looks real.

Type if you want something clean, consistent and repeatable — or if your hand-drawn attempts look like a seismograph. Script fonts have gotten very good, and at small sizes (which is how signatures appear in documents) a well-chosen font is genuinely hard to tell apart from ink. When in doubt, download both and keep the one you like.

Frequently asked questions

Is this signature generator really free?

Yes, completely. Draw or type as many signatures as you like and download them as often as you like. There is no account, no signup, no watermark and no paywall waiting at the download button.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. The drawing pad accepts touch input, so you can sign with your finger on an iPhone or Android phone, then download the PNG straight to your device.

Is my signature uploaded to a server?

No. The drawing, the fonts and the PNG export all happen inside your browser. Your signature never leaves your device.

What file do I get?

A PNG with a transparent background, cropped tight around the ink and exported at double resolution. PNG pastes cleanly into email clients, Word, Google Docs and most PDF editors.

Can I use the signature on official documents?

For everyday paperwork — forms, letters, invoices, school documents — a signature image is usually accepted. For anything that asks for a legally binding or certified electronic signature, you need a dedicated e-signature service that verifies identity; a PNG image is a picture of a signature, not proof of who signed.

Which font looks most like a real signature?

Great Vibes, Alex Brush and Pinyon Script have the classic fountain-pen look; Sacramento and Allura are lighter and quicker; Homemade Apple and Caveat feel like everyday handwriting. Type your name and click through them all — the preview updates instantly. The full gallery with samples is on the signature fonts page.

How do I add the result to Gmail?

Download the PNG, then follow the illustrated steps in How to add a signature in Gmail — the signature settings take an image paste in seconds. The same file works for Outlook, Apple Mail and most other clients.
